- Because money is scarce and their government is corrupt, Guatemala has a high rate of crime. If you do live here it would be putting yourself in risk. Criminal strike everyday in Guatemala.

- Guatemala has been know to have big problems with many people getting Malaria infection. Also in the rainy season the Dengue fever spreads a lot by the Aedes mosquito. Guatemala has many other health concerns besides these. There are many stray dogs in Guatemala which means rabies is another big problem.
- Hurricanes occur quite often in Guatemala. Most of the hurricanes, along with other tropical storms, happen between June to November. Their biggest hurricane was in 1998 which left a large amount damage.This hurricane, Hurricane Mitch, left 8,000 missing and 11,000 dead.

- Maintenance concerns in Guatemala can be an issue. Many rental cars break down because of bad maintenance work on them.Their public buses, also known as chicken buses, are old and warn out buses from America. A chicken bus, in 2011, crashed into a ravine, which killed 14 people (they were not tourists).

- The traffic in Guatemala is very dangerous and reckless. Accents happen all the time. A newspaper reported two car that happened within 12 kilometers of each other. Their roads are very curvy, they have narrow lanes, and sharp curves. Its not safe at all to walk beside the roads or there's a big chance of you getting hit by a vehicle.

- Many cases of stomach pain take place because of all the unclean water. Guatemala does have tap water, but is not clean or sanitary. The pipes that carry the water are old and some can even have lead, bacteria or parasites inside them. Drinking bottled water is the best choice.
- Numerous amounts of people don't go outside after dark because of so many gang issues happening in certain parts of Guatemala. War zones can irrupt at any time if rival gangs get together. In August, 2010, at least 50 people were murdered within two days due to these gangs. On an average, atleast four murders happen every weak from different gangs.

- To experience one of the greatest volcanoes in Guatemala, which is Volcan Santiaguito. Its dangerous and industrial climbing but a great place to go see. Volcan started in 1922 when it first started to grow. Small explosions happen thirty to forty times a day.
- If you love chocolate, like me, then you would be proud to say that you lived in the country of Guatemala, the first ever inventors of the chocolate bar! The first chocolate bar was made during the Mayan times.
- They say the weather is the best down there. If you like spring then you'll love Guatemala. It feels like spring pretty much all year long. It doesn't rain much in Guatemala, but if it does rain it wont be all day. If you like wet weather than between May and November will be your favorite part of the year.
- The food in Guatemala is mostly natural, which is a good thing. Most of their food is locally grown because of so many people are poor. They eat beans very often because of the early Mayan diet. The Mayan diet includes: squash, maize, and beans. Also corn tortillas are almost in every meal of their day.
- There are so many nice people in Guatemala. They greet each other with kindness and help each other when they need help or assistance. If you ever need a ride you most likely you will get one because they don't mind to help.
- Guatemala has some of the most beautiful sceneries in the world. From more than 15 volcanoes to more than 20 lakes. The largest Mayan ruins in the world is in Guatemala.The Mayan ruins are surrounded by a big rain forest. There are tons of huge mountains twhich have great views of Guatemala.
